Hello, I’m Atsal Khandro.

For over 40 years, I’ve helped adults and teens untangle the root causes of stress, emotional pain, and inner conflict—so they can move forward with clarity, energy, and ease. My work blends talk therapy with body-based practices like Internal Family Systems (IFS), breathwork, meditation, and trauma-informed somatic tools.

Each session is personalized. We’ll move at your pace—gently, directly, and collaboratively—to discover what helps you shift. Whether it’s through deep conversation, movement, or subtle energetic release, our time together is grounded, effective, and often surprisingly creative. You’ll be welcomed into a calm, comfortable office space in Ann Arbor where real change begins.

Practical Tools for Change

Every method I use is body-based, trauma-informed, and designed to meet you where you are.

Somatic healing is a body-centered approach to resolving stress, trauma, and emotional patterns held in the nervous system. By increasing awareness of physical sensations, movement, and breath, we access the body’s natural capacity to regulate and heal. This process helps reduce chronic tension, improve emotional resilience, and restore a sense of safety and connection from the inside out.

Breathwork

Breathwork uses intentional breathing techniques to help regulate your nervous system, release stored emotion, and bring your body into a calmer, more balanced state. It can be a powerful tool for reducing anxiety, increasing focus, and accessing deeper emotional insight—often supporting healing in ways that talking alone cannot.

IFS is a gentle, evidence-based approach to understanding the different “parts” of yourself—each with its own feelings, roles, and needs. Together, we identify and build relationships with these parts to bring more internal harmony. This work helps reduce inner conflict, resolve trauma, and access a deep sense of self-leadership and clarity.

Meditation can be deeply supportive—but many people struggle with it because they haven’t been taught an approach that fits their nervous system or current life stage. In our work, we’ll explore simple, personalized techniques that meet you where you are. Whether it’s guided imagery, breath-based focus, or silent presence, I’ll help you find a way into meditation that feels accessible, safe, and genuinely helpful.

Taking the first step doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
Reach out when you’re ready—and together, we’ll find a starting point that feels right for you. You don’t have to do this alone. Compassionate, personalized support is here when you need it.
